Casting

  1. Go to the top right corner, and click the switches icon next to the date. Then click on Screen Mirroring.

  1. Click the name of the Apple TV you want to connect to. The name of the device should be shown on your TV screen.

  1. A prompt to enter an AirPlay code will pop up on your device. Enter in the code you see on the TV.

  1. To disconnect, go back to screen mirroring, and click on the Apple TV you are connected to. This will stop the casting.

Changing Your Password

We recommend changing your MacBook’s password when you get your device.

  1. To change the password, go to System Settings. The icon will look like this:

  1. Scroll down and click on Touch ID & Password. Towards the top, click on the Change button.

  1. Enter in your old password and then enter your new one. Then click Change Password.

Printing

Printing on a MacBook is very similar to how it is on a Chromebook.

  1. When printing, click on the destination and then select See more…

  2. Select the printer you want.

  1. Make sure it’s the correct printer in Destination, and then click print.

  1. Enter in your Barrington Schools email and password. Make sure to check the box to remember this password in my keychain so you don’t have to keep signing in.

Presentation Clickers

When plugging in the presentation clickers for the first time, you may need to allow the connection to use it.

  1. Click Allow on the connections pop up.

  1. Click the Quit button on the Keyboard Setup Assistant. You do not need to set up the clicker in order to use it.

Power Options

If you are looking for the options like log out, restart, and shutdown, click on the Apple icon in the top left corner.

NOTE: Closing the lid or hitting the physical power button will NOT turn off the MacBook. Make sure to turn it off using the Shut Down… button.

Apps

To see all the installed applications, open Launchpad. The icon looks like this:

You can also search for apps by going to the search icon towards the top right corner.
